On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which we commemorated on 25 November, we gathered in the pleasant setting of Reny’s Coffee & Brunch in Revúca to discuss the topic “Are Safe Relationships Our Priority?” Together, we talked about the manifestations and consequences of violent behaviour and communication, as well as about the support options available to people who experience violence or have encountered it in their lives. The aim was also to highlight the key features of healthy and safe relationships built on mutual respect.

We were pleased to present the work of our Counselling and Intervention Centre (CSS-KA), where we provide assistance to victims of domestic and gender-based violence within the Banská Bystrica Region. Our sincere thanks go to Reny’s Coffee for creating a safe space for open dialogue, and to Ing. Mgr. Janka Švecová, coordinator of the national project Together for a Childhood Free from Violence for All Children from the Department for Supporting Child Protection from Violence (ÚPSVaR Revúca). Thanks to her initiative and cooperation, this event could take place, and we were able to participate actively.
